This beautiful journal features original works of art created by participants in You Night’s ScART (Scar + Art) healing program—a powerful experience where survivors turn their scars into sacred, visual stories of resilience.

Each design reflects the strength, beauty, and journey of someone who has faced life-changing challenges, using art as a path to healing.

A portion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in honor of this artist.

About the art and the artist:

Olivia Joly’s story is deeply rooted in love, loss, and connection. Her scars—from a port, lymph node removal, and neck surgery—are part of her personal journey, but her artwork reaches far beyond herself. Instead of focusing only on her own experience, Olivia created something that honors the many lives cancer has touched around her.

On her canvas, she painted a Tree of Life, its branches carrying cancer ribbons representing people in her life who have faced this disease. Many of those names now live in memory, while others are still fighting. At the center stands the trunk—strong and grounding—dedicated to her sister, Idalina, who is living with metastatic cancer. Through this image, Olivia captured not only the weight of loss, but the enduring strength of love and family.

The ScART experience brought forward a wave of emotion for Olivia. It was both heavy and inspiring, opening her eyes to the shared nature of this journey. She realized that while her story is her own, she is surrounded by others who understand, who have walked similar—and sometimes even more difficult—paths. In that space, she felt something powerful: she felt heard.

And perhaps most importantly, she came away with a sense of connection she hadn’t fully felt before. Through art, through shared stories, Olivia was reminded that she is not alone—and that even in the hardest moments, there is comfort in being seen, understood, and held within a community.
