About the art and artist:

Jenny Foster’s story is one of complexity, honesty, and emotional depth—shaped by her journey through ovarian cancer and the presence of breast reduction scars. Rather than choosing a single narrative for her healing, Jenny embraced them all. In her artwork, she used every available color, allowing each one to represent the full spectrum of emotions tied to her scars. For Jenny, those marks hold everything—anger, pride, disappointment, and moments of quiet strength. They are not one feeling, but many, shifting and evolving just as she has.

Through the ScART experience, Jenny found herself reflecting more deeply on what it truly means to heal. She gained a profound appreciation for the pain, the sacrifices, and the resilience that women carry as they navigate cancer and the long road back to themselves. What stood out most to her was not perfection, but expression. She discovered that art therapy offers a powerful release—a way to process trauma that doesn’t depend on talent, but on truth. In giving herself permission to feel it all and put it onto the canvas, Jenny found both validation and freedom in her healing journey.
