ScART (Scar Art) Journal by Artist Lisa McKenzie

This beautiful journal features original works of art created by participants in You Night’s ScART (Scar + Art) healing program—a powerful experience where survivors turn their scars into sacred, visual stories of resilience.

Each design reflects the strength, beauty, and journey of someone who has faced life-changing challenges, using art as a path to healing.

The art shows the scar from a broken fibula and tibia (the umbrella handle).  Lisa was in a wheelchair by herself as an empty nester for four months recovering (after swatting at a wasp and falling off a chair).  The wasp and Lisa both were victims of the debacle.  The painting represents rain that falls, an umbrella that keeps us safe (God), and flowers that need water to bloom.
