"Sacred Strength is a visual expression of survival, resilience, and self-love. The scars depicted in my painting represent my journey through a double mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction and a port—a journey marked by pain, healing, and transformation Each element in the painting reflects brightness, boldness, and courage. The colors I chose—purple, blue, green, white, and gold—carry their own meaning:

• Purple symbolizes the strength and dignity I continue to hold onto.
• Blue reflects the peace I’m learning to lean into.
• Green is a reminder to keep growing and healing.
• White stands for clarity, surrender, and fresh starts.
• Gold represents victory—becoming the person I’m meant to be, emerging stronger, and perhaps even shinier.

Together, these colors tell the story of my daily choice to embrace faith over fear, peace over panic, and growth over stagnation. It is my faith in God and the unwavering support of my family that have carried me through this journey. Their love and strength were constant reminders that I was never alone.Creating this piece gave me a safe space to explore and express my emotions through art. It helped me come to terms with my scars and recognize the strength and perseverance of my body throughout this experience. Everyone who participated in ScArt has an incredible story to tell—stories of courage, strength, and overcoming. Through sharing our journeys, we offer each other support and the hope that the future is, indeed, bright."
