"I painted a butterfly to represent my transformation—from cancer to wellness and wholeness. My scars are from a bilateral mastectomy, DIEP flap reconstruction, a chemo port, lymph node removal, stretch marks, and a newly created belly button. Each one tells part of my story—one of survival, strength, and becoming In my painting, gold symbolizes victory over cancer. Green represents the personal growth and renewal I’ve experienced on this journey. Purple reflects my unwavering faith in God, while blue conveys the peace I receive through my relationship with Him. Yellow shines with optimism and hope for the future.ScART helped me see my scars in a new light—not as reminders of pain, but as proof of resilience. It taught me to embrace them as part of my transformation. More than anything, ScART gave me the gift of connection.
