Each design reflects the strength, beauty, and journey of someone who has faced life-changing challenges, using art as a path to healing.

A portion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in honor of this artist.

About the art and artist:

Desiree came into her ScART experience carrying questions she didn’t yet have answers to. After undergoing a bilateral mastectomy with a nipple lift, her scars felt tied not only to what had happened physically, but to a deeper, lingering uncertainty—how it happened, and why it happened to her. When she began to paint, those emotions found their way onto the canvas in color and form. She chose grey to lay over her scars, representing that unknown space she was still trying to understand. But she didn’t stop there. She surrounded that grey with pink—soft, intentional, and full of meaning—because peace is what she longs for, what she is actively choosing to move toward. Above it all, she painted purple clouds, symbols of clarity slowly forming, reminding her that even in the midst of unanswered questions, understanding can begin to take shape.

What emerged on her canvas was more than just a painting—it was a reflection of who she is becoming. A woman still navigating uncertainty, but also one who is beginning to make peace with her story. Through the process, something shifted. The scars that once felt painful began to look different. Not erased, not ignored—but seen through a new lens. For the first time, Desiree could view them as beautiful.

That moment marked the beginning of something important: healing. Not finished, not complete—but started. And that, she realized, is powerful. It’s why she would encourage others to experience ScART—not because it provides all the answers, but because it opens the door to seeing yourself, and your story, in a way you may never have before.
